The EMINENT project wrapped up its activities with a final conference on Quality Assurance (QA) in Higher Education at the Université Publique du Sud aux Cayes (UPSAC) on April 21st & 22nd, 2022. The conference took place in a hybrid format, with the theme "Towards the InPAQ-SUP network Interconnexion des partenaires de l'assurance qualité dans l'enseignement supérieur en Haïti".

This conference allowed to highlight the great social relevance of the EMINENT project, and the dynamic ownership of its objectives and results by the partners in Haiti who showed great resilience and creativity in overcoming multiple challenges in the past few years during their efforts to develop a solid QA culture in their universities. During the conference the speakers were able to share with participants from over a dozen institutions in Haiti and the EU their experience in setting up QA Units, drafting internal QA system plans for a specific faculty or the development and implementation of plans for self-evaluation of degree programmes. To this was added the public presentation of a new online platform called e-AQ-Haiti developed by partner ESIH to manage QA in Higher Education in Haiti.

The highlight of the event was the launching of the new national QA network InPAQH-Sup "Interconnexion des Partenaires de l’Assurance Qualité dans l’enseignement supérieur en Haïti". During a special ceremony the representatives of the EMINENT partner universities in Haïti came together to sign a constitutional acte effectively creating the network. Shortly thereafter 7 more Haitian universities signed letters of adhesion, growing the network in a single day to 12 members. The hope is this network will help all Haitian higher education institutions to develop solid quality assurance systems in their institutions, building off the initial work developed by the EMINENT project.

This QA conference has brought new hope to the actors of the Haitian higher education system, in the midst of the health, security and social crisis the country is currently going through. It represents an important step in the path towards a quality education.

The EMINENT project will host its Quality Assurance Conference at the Université Publique du Sud aux Cayes (UPSAC) on April 21st & 22nd, 2022.

The theme of the conference is "Towards the InPAQ-SUP network Interconnexion des partenaires de l'assurance qualité dans l'enseignement supérieur en Haïti".

Reference: EMINENT, Towards the enhancement and Harmonisation of HEIs Quality Assurance in Haiti in response to national and International developments, co-financed by the EC ERASMUS+ Programme (Contract No 598634-EPP-1-2018-1-ES-EPPKA2-CBHE-SP).

The Institutional Project Management Office (OGPI) of the University of Alicante is looking to select for the EMINENT project:

1 external evaluator to assess the quality of 2 sets of Quality Assurance In Higher Education Institutions documents: IQ PC HEIs IQAS Manuals & Self-evaluations work plans of 5 selected study programmes
1 external evaluator to evaluate the implementation and impact of the project activities and quality assessment, and the overall effectiveness of the results, through the preparation of a Final Project Evaluation Report.

Interested parties who comply with the requirements defined in the Terms of Reference must send their CV to the email address: project.management@ua.es, indicating "EMINENT Project – External Evaluation" or "EMINENT Project – External Evaluation Quality Assurance documents" in the subject of the email .

Deadline for receipt of applications: Monday 25/04/22. Selected applicants must be available on Wednesday 27/04/22 for an interview in which they will present their methodology proposal

EMINENT keeps progressing in 2021

Les partenaires d'EMINENT ont organisé une réunion de projet en ligne le vendredi 21 janvier 2021. Les collègues d'Haïti et de l'Union européenne se sont réunis après les vacances de Noël par visioconférence pour formuler un plan de travail réalisable pour rattraper les retards de mise en œuvre du projet.

Dans ce sens, les partenaires ont salué la bonne nouvelle concernant l'approbation officielle par l'EACEA de prolonger la période de mise en œuvre du projet EMINENT jusqu'en avril 2022. Cela deviendra une excellente occasion pour le projet de compenser les perturbations générées par le COVID. 19 pandémie et action rétablie.

Le consortium EMINENT se concentrera les 4 prochains mois pour finaliser la conception de leurs systèmes internes d'assurance qualité au niveau des facultés, mener des activités d'auto-évaluation et articuler des propositions politiques dans le cadre de l'action du document de la feuille de route.

L'événement virtuel a réuni des représentants de 5 établissements d'enseignement supérieur haïtiens présents dans le Consortium EMINENT ainsi que le représentant du ministère de l'Éducation (MENFP) du même pays. Les universités de l'UE étaient également représentées afin d'assurer une coordination harmonieuse entre les partenaires du projet.

EMINENT est un Erasmus + / Action clé 2: Coopération pour l'innovation et l'échange de bonnes pratiques: projet de renforcement des capacités dans l'enseignement supérieur, cofinancé par le programme Erasmus + de l'Union Européenne et coordonné par l'Université d'Alicante, qui contribue à «Vers le renforcement et l'harmonisation de l'assurance qualité des établissements d'enseignement supérieur en Haïti en réponse aux développements nationaux et internationaux ». En particulier, le projet a été conçu en tenant compte du besoin urgent de développer des systèmes d'assurance de la qualité de l'enseignement supérieur en Haïti et en outre d'étendre cet impact à la région des Caraïbes.
